I told him it wasn't anyone in particular, it was everyone and everything outside the hollow walls! It took some arguing before they moved us to a completely different suite at 3 a.m. I had an easier time sleeping in downtown New York with road work going on outside! When I complained to the desk clerk he told me I needed to report who was being noisy. Sure enough, as we tried to sleep well after midnight, doors slamming shut, people were calling down the hallway, and it was very noisy in the room. We also noticed that we could hear anyone and every door in the hallway. Then we couldn't figure out where the sheet was, guess they expect you to sleep directly under the comforter. At first everything seemed very nice, except we couldn't figure out why they called it the waterfront tower, we didn't have views of anything other than a large parking lot. 1/2 hour later we arrived at our room in the waterfront tower. Even that took a long time due to computer malfunctions.
Just like grocery stores they seemed to intentionally limit access to a live person as a way to encourage you to do a self-serve check in on the computer.
We were first surprised at how impersonal the check in process was, and then at how long it took to check in.
